Chronic Pain & Recurring Muscular Tension
Chronic pain can involve tissue irritation, old injuries, movement habits, protective muscular tone, nervous-system sensitivity, sleep, stress, medical conditions, and the demands of daily life.
What matters to us
Massage does not need to explain every part of pain in order to be useful. We assess the muscular and soft-tissue component, what changes it, and whether care is actually helping.
“I recently had an amazing massage with Sue Hogan. My chronic pain was nonexistent the following day and then some! I highly recommend an hour and a half treatment with Sue.”Verified client review
The current pattern matters more than an old label
We reassess rather than repeating the same session indefinitely.
What an LMT may assess
Muscular guarding, trigger-point referral, tissue restriction, previous injury or surgical compensation, repeated demands, movement comfort, and whether the presentation has changed enough to warrant another provider's input.
How massage may fit
Clinical Massage may help reduce pain, calm muscular guarding, improve comfortable movement, and make day-to-day activity more manageable.
One visit or ongoing care
For some clients, the need is short-term. For others, periodic treatment is one useful part of long-term symptom management. If we recommend follow-through, there should be a reason and a plan to reassess.
Not sure where to start?
Start with the concern, not the technique. Clinical Massage is booked by time; we assess first and adapt the session around what you are experiencing.
