“I could barely walk before my appointment. Sue worked all my knots out. I will be back for sure!”Verified client review
Sue Hogan brings more than two decades of massage therapy experience to The Body Mechanist, with a steady, methodical style built around listening first, assessing what she finds, and adapting the work as the body responds.
Sue has been practicing massage therapy since 1999 and has been part of The Body Mechanist since 2015. She was the practice’s third hire, joining before Nichole went out on maternity leave, and she has remained a constant presence through years of growth and change.
Her work is especially well suited to clients dealing with persistent low-back and hip discomfort, neck and shoulder tension, chronic pain patterns, and areas that keep asking for attention. Her sessions can be deep when appropriate, but pressure is never the point. Sue pays attention to what the tissue is doing, what changes during the session, and what the client is actually feeling.
Her clinical foundation includes Neuromuscular Therapy training with Bonnie Thompson, along with trigger-point work and continued study in clinical massage. That training supports a practical approach: understand before assuming, work with purpose, reassess, and adjust.
At The Body Mechanist, Sue’s Clinical Massage sessions are guided by the same shared restoration approach used throughout the practice. The Human Restoration Method™ guides the reasoning, while Neuromuscular Restoration Therapy™ (NRT™) informs the hands-on clinical bodywork. The concern tells us where to start. Assessment helps determine where to look next.
Trained, experienced, and still paying attention.

Family, history & a fixture within these walls.
Sue is a mother of two and grandmother of two, and family is at the center of her life. She has a close relationship with a very large extended family and is often the person helping someone, checking in, or showing up when she is needed.
That same steadiness is part of who she is at The Body Mechanist. Sue joined the practice before Nichole went out on maternity leave and was the third person ever hired. She has been here through years of change, expansion, and evolution, becoming one of the most familiar faces in the practice.
Sue is, quite simply, a fixture within these walls. Longtime clients know her, newer clients quickly understand why she has remained such an important part of the team, and her history here is part of the continuity that makes The Body Mechanist feel like one connected practice rather than a collection of separate providers.
